A different island that you might want to visit when in Cebu is Kalanggaman Island. This island rests 15 kilometers from Palompon, positioned on the western seashore of Leyte. The place is still untouched but few structures are already established in the area. It’s a perfect place for those who want to have a quality time and have quiet scenery to think and relax. Kalanggaman Island is one of the most picturesque islands with amazing white sand and pristine water, an ideal summer get-away spot.
If you are planning to see this island you need to plan things ahead because getting there is a bit of a challenge due to waves are rough on the area. If you are lucky, sighting of frolicking dolphins on your way to or from the island so be attentive and bring a camera in handy. An entrance fee of php150 being charge per person which is worth it for a tour in a splendid island. There are a lot of things that you can do in the island of Kalanggaman like snorkeling and of course sunbathing in the sun while admiring the breathtaking view of the surrounding. The place is very clean and well-maintained; it’s like having a breath of fresh air being in this island.
Just be reminded that there is no water supply or even electricity in the island, even a simple store can’t be found anywhere so be sure to bring everything you need like food, water and basic essentials. If you want to sleep over the island be sure to bring your own tent because there are no accommodation provider in Kalanggaman. If you are don’t want to spend the night in the island it’s advisable to sail back early to avoid strong sea current.
To get there take a boat ride from Cebu City to Ormoc City, then take a pumpboat going straight to Kalanggaman.
